Hundreds of millions of young people in emerging countries may not continue school beyond grade 9.

But they have mobile phones….

We are a charity based in Switzerland and aim to bridge educational gaps between secondary school and university to allow more students to pass university entry level. empowermefirst.college is accessible to anyone regardless of gender, background, belief, physical mobility, lifestyle, social or financial status.

Wir sind eine Verein (Gönnerverein von empowermefirst.college) mit Sitz in der Schweiz und wollen Bildungslücken zwischen Sekundarschule und Universität überbrücken, damit mehr Lernende die Hochschulreife erreichen. empowermefirst.college ist für jeden zugänglich, unabhängig von Geschlecht, Herkunft, Glauben, körperlicher Mobilität, Lebensstil, sozialer oder finanzieller Status.

Can I apply for more than one volunteering job at the same time?

Yes, of course, if you have the skills and time.

How are the working hours?

You can work from home and choose your own working hours. Meetings are mostly on zoom when it suits everyone.

What is the working language?

We work mostly in English, yet we also need native German, French or Italian speakers if you want to be part of the fundraising and communications team.

How do I apply?

Please upload your CV to https://empowermefirst.freshteam.com/jobs. We will send you screening questions based on your background and then invite you to an interview.

What are the benefits?

This is a volunteering position and as it's remote we cannot credibly supply you with work permits in Switzerland. What we give back is education: If you apply as an author, you will be given a training in instructional design and there are many other online courses. We also provide regular webinars for staff training such as leadership training which is open to everyone.

What is the organisational structure?

We are an association based in Switzerland and we partner with our organisation empowermefirst Zimbabwe. We hope to expand to other countries.
We have a flat hierarchy and do not believe in titles.
