Job Responsibilities for the WordPress Web Developer
(Maintenance Role)
1. WordPress Maintenance & Updates
- Regularly update the WordPress core, plugins, and themes to ensure
compatibility and security.
- Monitor for vulnerabilities in plugins or themes and implement necessary
patches or replacements.
2. Security Monitoring and Response
- Perform regular security checks to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.
- Respond to hacking incidents, such as malicious links or compromised content.
-investigate and resolve the root causes of breaches (e.g., fixing vulnerabilities in
plugins or identifying other entry points).
- Implement additional security measures (e.g., firewalls, captcha systems, login
security plugins).
3. Backup Management
- Ensure a reliable and automated backup system is in place.
- Regularly verify that backups are up-to-date and accessible in case of
emergencies.
- Manage recovery of the website using backups when needed.
4. Testing Environment Management
- Maintain and update a testing/staging environment to safely apply updates or changes before deploying them to the live site.
5. Day-to-Day Troubleshooting
-Address and resolve website issues promptly (e.g., broken pages, plugin
conflicts, server errors).
-Monitor website performance and ensure uptime and fast loading speeds
